It is recomended for those over 60 yo, one shot, as 99.5 % of this population has been exposed to chicken pox and is at risk for shingles. The vaccine effectively decreases incidence of shingles by 50%.It should not be given to those with immune system problems. Most presription plans pay for it with a variable co pay.
