Zostavax is protect: You need to clarify this question with your physician. Zostavax can help prevent herpes Auster and postherpetic neuropathy. It is not 100% protection but it's better than not having any protection. There will also be a new shingles vaccine which is not live virus coming out next year. These are certainly issues you can discuss with your physician about.
