Very different: Adhd attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is often caused or worsened by fluctuating blood sugars as a result of sweet drinks. Reactive hypoglycemia leads to inability to concentrate as the brain is temporarily starved for glucose. Then the low sugar levels stimulate the release of adrenaline leading to the hyperactivity. Autism is much more complicated, caused by literal brain inflammation.

Neurodevelopmental: Both are considered neurodevelopmental disorders and can have some overlapping features. Adhd typically presents as difficulties with focus, attention, planning and executing as well as trouble with impulsiveness and remaining still. Patients with autism often have all of those same difficulties in addition to impairments in language, social interactions, and sensory integration.
