Each is a neuro-: developmental disorder with its own set of symptoms required for diagnosis by DSM-V criteria. Both are categorical diagnoses that have many different genetic and other medical causes. They both can impact learning, behavior, executive functions and social skills, but for different reasons. They can co-exist in a person. The symptoms of both can be reduced by proper management, but not "cured".
