Aphthous stomatitis: Cold blisters or aphtha, are raw areas that appear on the lining of the inside of your mouth, tongue, throat, and lips. They may commonly appear as a result of a cold, over exposure to sun, other physical or emotional stress. Commonly caused by resurgence of the chicken pox virus in our body, they are self limited and go away within several days.
