Maybe, maybe not: Nerve impingement is unfortuantely common, and can be very debilitating. Depending on the severity of the impingment, where it is (is it on the spinal cord), have medications been used to treat or physical therapy, etc. Some people, despite these non-surgical treatments, and the specifics of their nerve impingement, may end up being surgical candidates.
