Cramps: Lots of possibilities here. Consider carpal & tarsal tunnel, restless leg, radiculopathy, electrolyte imbalance--calcium-potassium-sodium, etc., sprain/strain.

Cramping: You have thought about a lot of the important causes of cramping already. There are still a few to consider. How active are you? Do you warm up, cool down and stretch? Magnesium is important, so are sodium potassium, and calcium. Dropping objects is not necessarily a sign of a problem. How is your strength? Some people have cramps more than others, it can be part of our make up.
