Exam under anesthies: I assume the ENT looked with a scope in the office. Consider a ct scan of the area as well as exam of the throat under anesthesia.

Plastic in throat: If definitely sure it is there, may need endoscopy under anesthesia to locate. Plastic not likely to show on plain x-ray, possibly on ct.
