Each baby differs: Each baby differs in what his needs are. Parents can follow the doctor's recommendations for visits. There will be more visits if a baby is not eating well, is not gaining weight adequately, is jaundiced, has stomach reflux, or has any other newborn problems.

Follow up important: It depends on a few factors, including whether the baby was on a ventilator , had apnea, heart disease or used oxygen. If the baby was sent home on oxygen, diuretics and a number of medications, it is important to follow up in a short period of time. If the baby is feeding and growing well and is not taking medications, then the visits can be further apart.
