Zoster?: Depending on your age, zoster, with what is called post-hermetic neuralgia may be the reason for a one sided pain. You don't have to have a skin rash with zoster. But... That is a diagnosis that must rule out all others first! you should be throughly examined before this diagnosis is made. See an ophthalmologist.
