When Ready: Assisted living is there for those who need a little assistance but are able to do most things for themselves. So the best way to tell when you are ready is when you can roll in a wheelchair or walk with minimal assistance and as long as you don't require close daily nursing supervision. Physical therapy can be continued at the assisted living when you have reached this point.

Ask doctor: If you have a broken pelvis and are in rehab, then you have a physician and a therapist. Check with both of them.
