It can: Amoxicillin is effective against E. Coli which is a common urinary pathogen and has been used successfully for UTI. However, it is not first choice. Sulfa is usually better for UTI.

UTI: Amoxicillin can treat an UTI. There is a wide variety of suitable antibiotics. Appropriate antibiotics are dependent on what you can tolerate and what is appropriate for the organism causing the infection. Evaluation by your doctor will help determine this for you.
