Is there a vacination for hep a?

Absolutely...: Hepatitis a vaccine, combined with hepatitis b vaccine, is easily administered, readily available, and highly recommended if you haven't already developed antibodies from past viral exposure. Ask your primary provider or local health department to administer it.

Yes: There are 2 HAV vaqccines licensed in the us, havrix(glaxo) and vaqta(.Merck). The vaccines produce protective antibody in as little as 2 weeks after the initial dose. Both vaccines are given as a 2 dose series. The second dose is given 6-8 months after the first. These vaccines are highly effective, well tolerated and are recommended for anyone at risk.
