A doctor has provided 1 answer

CO2 retention: If you have scoliosis your rib cage is unable to effectively act as a bellows and move air in and out of your lungs. Thus you cannot eliminate co2. It is important to not take excessive amounts of oxygen which can increase your co2. Noninvasive ventilation (bipap) can increase your ventilation and reduce your co2 level. You should see a pulmonologist to help you.
