Generally Not: What may have happened is that you have some discoloration from the original bruising. Sometimes red blood cells from a bruise can leave behind what are called hemosiderin deposits. Basically an iron discoloration. You may be able to treat this with some laser treatment that break up the iron and lighten the skin. I suggest you discuss this with an experienced plastic surgeon.

Its not normal: It is not normal or usual to have bruising or discoloration this long after a rhinoplasty. Most likely it is presence of hemosiderin, (a blood break down product) that may be improved with more time or laser treatments. Good luck from nyc.

Broken capillaries?: Sometimes, capillaries become broken in the process of rhinoplasty that can lead to the "bruising" or discoloration that you are seeing. Laser treatment might be of benefit. One should seek consultation with their physician.

No: Bruising after rhinoplasty typically will last for only a few weeks. Causes for discoloration can include skin hyperpigmentation (darkening of your skin's natural pigment) or deposits of hemosiderin (byproduct of red blood cell breakdown). Hyperpigmentation is more common if you have naturally darker skin tone or too much sun exposure to the healing nose. Check with your surgeon. Good luck!

No: I would go back to see your surgeon. Bruising should be resolved within weeks to months after surgery.

Not normal: No this is not normal. While most bruising will last no more than 4 weeks, by one year all bruising should have resolved. On occasion post inflammatory hyperpigmentation may last upwards of two years, this is not common unless there was prolonged inflammation or additional injury postoperatively such as a sunburn. I would discuss with your surgeon.
