Is it safe to give a 2 year old 100mg of chewable vitamin c? she is a very picky eater, but she still breastfeeds at least once a day.

Vitamins: Vitamins are supplements to what you may need in your diet. That said many foods are lacking the micronutrients they once had. A children's multivitamin will not hurt your child and may give her some extra minerals. Try to improve her diet and build on what she likes . Avoid unnecessary snacks and sugary drinks.

Yes: Vitamin c is a water soluble vitamin so any extra will be eliminated by the child's kidneys in her urine.

Why only vitamin C?: 1) two yrs old and breast feeding? I don't believe she is getting enough nutrition from your breast. I think it's more for comfort. 2) wean her off of your breast 3) multi-vitamins is better option. Flint stones makes a chewable brand for children two- four yrs. And they contain enough rdas for all necessary vitamins.
