Many things...: There are several possibilities. The constant compression is likely from swelling as a result of the injury. This could be a contusion of bone or soft tissue, a sprain of ligaments around your ankle, a tendon rupture or strain, a cartilage injury or a fracture. You should see an orthopedist if pain/swelling/compression persists.

Several things: You may have just buised it or you could HAV fractured it. If pain persists it should be examined and possible x-ray.
