Many reasons: 91 year old is a tricky age when the body withering. Apart from alzheimer's any infection like urinary tract infection or new onset depression can make her stop talking. A thorough evaluation by her pcp or geriatrician is needed. If all comes back normal, keep trying, be there, talk to her, she might come around.
