A member asked:

An abnormal gland under your armpit showed on an ultrasound, can this be serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually not: Most nodules or lumps in the axilla are lymph nodes which may enlarge for many reasons. If it is new it should be followed. Another type of lump can be a sebaceous cyst which is an enlarged oil gland in the skin. They can become inflamed or infected an may need to be excised.
