Prob no see DR asap: Emphysema is associated with shortness of breath, cough, wheezing. At times a spontaneous collapse of the lung ( pneumothorax) can occur in over inflated damaged area of lung called a bleb ruptures. This can be associated with chest pain. Kidney area or flank pain is not a typical symptom. In any case a new severe symptom needs medical attention as soon as possible.
