Varies...: There are so many variables involved that it cannot be predicted for an individual. His mortality rate will be higher if he continues to smoke so he needs to quit asap! if his oxygen level in his blood is low enough to warrant supplemental oxygen, then wearing oxygen will decrease mortality rate. The rest of the therapies will control symptoms.
