Not much: The term "paraseptal" is just an anatomical location. Don't worry too much about it. Now that you have the diagnosis, make sure you stop smoking if you still smoke and get treatment. There are a lot of great treatments and life can be lives fully. Don't lose hope. Emphysema is NOT a death sentence.
