Yes, but...: If it displaces useless sugars and carbs. Remeber, eskimo and inuit native diets contained no carbs. Only protein and fat. The body will make the necessary sugar from these. However, protein intake has no benefit over 1g/2lbs of body weight.

Protein - pregnancy: Can be - but be balanced. Best to stay natural. Egg white is superior to all. Quinoa is excellent. Beans and lentils are excellent. Milk protein is excellent. Whole grains are good but not sufficient. Nuts are excellent. Yogurt is excellent
