Can be other causes: This can be related to several causes & should be evaluated promptly. In most situations, anxiety or vocal cord dysfunction causes such symptoms, but other underlying lung disorders including asthma should also be ruled out. There are specific breathing exercises such as relaxed throat breathing or diaphragmatic breathing that can be learned to help overcome your symptoms. Please see your doctor.

Get checked: The best way of eliminated asthma as a condition is to see a physician and have a spirometry test. Your medical history and this test can be used to determine if you have asthma or not.
