Shingles- congtagiou: If your husband touches the spot where the rash/virus is located he can contract full blown chicken pox. Otherwise there is little chance of transmitting the virus.

Need open wound: Shingles is the chickenpox virus that resides in the body's nerve roots until one's resistance is lowered and shingles develops. For your husband to get shingles he either has to have had chickenpox as a child, or have an open wound, scrape, or sore that comes into contact with your lesions, transmitting the virus from you to him. If he touches a lesion to an open wound on himself, that can spread.
