A member asked:

What are the potential problems of of a patient using their own medication and how can they be overcome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

?: I don't understand the question. A patient should use their own medication. There are always side effects and some have risks of abuse but this is why they are prescribed after evaluation and discussion with the doctor. Follow-up and monitoring is mandatory.
