What is the definition or description of: restrictive dieting?

Limiting food: Highly restricted diets can be detrimental since they can lead to rebound binge eating. Most doctors prefer restricted calories or restricted sugars, but abundant veggies, some proteins, and some fruits.

Never heard it: I have been treating overweight people for 35 years, having helped more than 35, 000. Never heard the term restrictive dieting, it sounds like its means eliminating a lot of foods, not a good idea, if you restrict a lot of foods you like, to lose weight, what happens when you are done, the secret is to find good substitutes for bad foods, make better choices, not to eliminate or restrict you foo.
