Spermatic cord twist: Testicular torsion is actually the abrupt twisting of the spermatic cord attached to the testicle. Blood flow to the effected testicle is disrupted during torsion. This is an emergency and needs immediate urologic care to diagnose and restore the blood flow to the testicle. Surgery is required to expose the spermatic cord/testes and untwist the cord. Left untreated the testicle will infarct.
