When to go to E.R.: If a guy has no other reason for symptoms, and he has sudden or severe pain in the scrotum (the sack that contains the testicles), swelling of the scrotum, abdominal pain, nausea, or a testicle that is hanging higher than normal or at an unusual angle... He could have testicular torsion and needs to get to the emergency room now. If symptoms are quite mild, a primary doctor may examine him first.
