Change of scar : Revision means just that . Scars can be changed in appearance, direction, occasionally in size. For practical purposes they cannot be completely erased.

Improving appearance: Scar revision is done in an attempt to improve the appearance of a scar. This can be done surgically, in which the offending scar is excised and the tissues are reoriented in an effort to give a better result in the healing period. Laser resurfacing can also help in the scar revision process in many cases.
