What is the definition or description of: acne scar?

Acne goes 3D: Acne scars are much deeper than the 2 dimensional blemish on the surface. The collagen fibers may extend through the subcutaneous fat to pull the surface down toward the underlying fascial layers. This creates the three dimensional "pit" common with aggressive inflammatory lesions.

Scars: Acne scars as all other scars are the result of healing damaged tissue. The term" acne" refers to the disease process that caused the injury ad not te type of scar in the same way that a "burn" scar is due that form oof injury.
