Invisible Braces: Invisalign is essentially invisible braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-made to each individual. These aligners are made of clear plastic and are worn day and night over the teeth to gradually straighten them.

Invisalign is....: A clear, custom-fabricated device used for straightening teeth. These retainers are designed to gradually realign teeth and are meant to replace traditional braces. Cosmetically, invisible retainers are more appealing because they are difficult to notice, making them particularly popular among adults who wish to straighten their teeth without the use of traditional metal braces. Invisalign: Invisalign is the name-brand for invisible or clear removable orthodontics. A series of specially fabricated clear trays is used to move your teeth from their "crooked" state to the position desired. Usually each tray moves the teeth about 1/4 mm, and a case on average takes about 1 - 1 1/2 years. That time requirement can vary widely depending on the complexity of the case though.

Incognito "braces": Invisalign is a technology to "straighten" teeth owned by align technology which uses clear computer-designed tooth trays to incrementally move teeth to correct a person's bite. While it can't do everything, it's a great product and works really well for many people :).

More on it: Invisalign is a proprietary name for a specific product. The concept of moving teeth with a series of individual retainers or aligners is from 1945 from dr. Harold d. Kesling. Invisalign is unique in that it makes use of computer technology to predict and then generate the aligners.

Clear braces: they use a composite plastic to gently move your teeth using a series of aligners that each move your teeth for about 2 weeks at a time.

Clear aligners: Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, are clear plastic trays designed to tip your teeth into improved alignment. They are extremely esthetic, and must be worn >22 hours/day to be effective. They are not a braces substitute, are only about 60% as effective, take longer, are more expensive, and don't provide as much post-treatment stability. See an Orthodontic Specialist for your options.
