Immunoglobulin A: Immunoglobulin a is an antibody that plays a critical in mucosal immunity found in mucosal secretions, tears, saliva, breast milk, the gastrointestinal tract, and the lungs. It helps prevent against sinus infections, ear infections, and pneumonia. More IgA is prodced per day than all other antibodies combined.

Immune protein: There are 5 classes of immune proteins: igg, iga, igm, ige and igd. Igm fights infection. If you produce too little then infections may occur and you have hypogammaglobulinemia. If you have too much you may have a gammopathy.
