Baby Teeth: Baby teeth, technically referred to as primary teeth are the first set of 20 teeth (10 on top and 10 on the bottom) that erupt in a child's mouth and are replaced by permanent teeth, normally from the age of about 6 years to 13 years of age.

Primary Teeth: Baby teeth (primary teeth) are the first set of teeth a child develops. They should be considered "space holders" in a childs mouth for the adult ("permanent") teeth. They are vitally important for the child to be able to eat, talk, and jaw development. Help your child care for them well.

First teeth: There are usually 20 baby teeth. These are the first teeth we humans grow. They are all replaced by permanent teeth. That is why they are also called deciduous teeth, like trees that lose their leaves in the fall and grow new leaves in the spring are called deciduous trees.

!st set of teeth. 20 in all. Begin erupting at about 6 months and finish at about 3 years. Begin falling out about age 7 and should be all gone by about 11-12. As there are 32 permanent teeth many erupt behind the baby teeth. Different size/shape/ composition than permanent teeth. Standard of care: ALL children should see Dentist or preferably Pedodontist by age 1, Orthodontist by age 7.
