See below: This can be too confusing. The corrected answer is the that geriatric medicine deals with aging process whether or not it is normal. It also deals with chronic medical illness that helps to slow down the progression of disease as well as appropriate medication and disease management/treatment. And mostly important, it allows find way to keep aging population healthy as possible.

Care of elderly: Geriatrics is the field of medicine specializing in care of the edlerly, generally those older then 65yo. A geriatrician is a physician tha takes additional training in caring for the elderly and is often fellowship trained and board ceritfied in that field of medicine.
