Nerve compression: Radiculopathy refers to a problem with nerves at the root level, where they exit the spinal cord. Typically, a ruptured disc may compress the nerve, but problems can occur with degenerative spondylosis and the foramenal narrowing can also compress. Pain, numbness, weakness, and atrophy of muscle may all be signs.
