Yes: Ringworm is not caused by a worm but rather by a fungus or yeast. Like most infections it is contagious and spread by contact with infected persons or animals. It can also be spread by touching the objects used by infected persons such as comb, brush, clothing, toys. Washing hands and objects touched by infected persons helps. Avoid direct contact with infected persons.
