A member asked:

What kind of ear condition/disorder can be detected from brain mri?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tumor: The brain MRI is very helpful in detecting growths such as acoustic neuromas, and a variety of lesions in the cerebellar and brainstem area (cerebello-pontine triangle). Structural bony problems in the ear itself may be better seen with cat technology. Unlikely that we will visualize changes in the labyrinthine otoliths or even see an endolympathic fistula as these are too small.
