So many of skin products say that they are dermatologist recommended. are they really?

Yes and no: Most products that make that claim have had a dermatologist say that "i recommend this product". The question is what did he recommend it for. For example, an acne product used for severe pustular acne would be overkill for someone with a few blackheads and an occasional pimple, but the product may say recommended for acne. It may actually harm the skin in the less severe cases. Ask a professional.

Yes: The skin product companies have dermatologists evaluate and approve the products. It doesn't mean that all dermatologists recommend the products, it just means that some dermatologists recommend them.
