No: Lupus is a disease that affects many organ systems in some people and only one or two systems in others. When the term lupus arthritis is used it is referring to the joint inflammation that occurs in people who have the disease lupus.

No: By definition, lupus arthritis is inflammatory arthritis due to lupus. To get lupus arthritis, you'd have to have lupus. If you mean, can you have lupus and get arthritis without getting kidney, heart or other severe disease, then yes, some patients only get arthritis or skin involvement.
