Genetics can play : There are genetically controlled immune responses that can be stimulated to cause connective tissue disease. There are these genetic issues in 2/3 of sle people but environment plays an important role. Even twin studies show that not all lupus is seen in both twins. Yes you have a risk but it is not that high.
