Depends: How rapidly one recovers from mal-tracking surgery depends on the method employed to correct the mal-tracking. Arthroscopic lateral release will take anywhere from 6-10 weeks for full recovery. Tibial tubercle osteotomy will easily take twice that long. Vmo advancement and medial capsular plication will take about 12 weeks for recovery.
