LASIK: With lasik, most people can go back to their normal activities within a few day, if not the day after surgery.

Depends: Depends on the operation. Most eye operations are outpatient and recovery is fairly fast with topical anesthesia. However more major surgeries such as retinal vitrectomy (with possible positional requirements after surgery), glaucoma (trab frequent followup), and full thickness corneal transplant may take a little longer depending on your type of work and the vision status of the fellow eye.
