How do physicians cut part of your eye membrane out and stitch it back in?

Lots of ways!: There are many places in the eye which could be described as having "membranes". Each has their own technique of surgical approach. There are many great videos on youtube of eye surgeries, including cataract, pterygium, laser vision correction /lasik, and epiretinal membrane. You should search and view these. Who knows, you may be a budding eye surgeon! good viewing!

Good question: The term membrane is often used to describe any thin tissue in the body. It does not describe a specific area. Some examples of procedures that you may be thinking about include: removal of excess skin on the white of the eye (pterygium); replacement of the front window of the eye (cornea transplant); and even cataract surgery. Each is done very differently.
