Colonization: You may be colonized with mrsa, you may want to have a nasal culture to rule out colonization with mrsa. Mrsa may still be sensitive to some antibiotics such as bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) the tetracyclines, Clindamycin , Doxycycline among others, specially if it community acquired. Mupirocin ointment may be used for nasal decolonization.
