No: Dry mouth is a common side-effect of medications and can be seen with scleroderma and is a side-effect of radiation for throat cancer. Medication side-effect is by far the most common and can be seen with anti-depressants, anti-histamines and some blood pressure medications. It is not related to digestion.

Multiple health issu: A dry mouth can cause multiple health issues that include an increase in dental decay, chewing problems and possible digestive problems. You may want to speak to your md about the cause of the dry mouth. Your dentist can suggest ideas to help with the dry mouth. Bioten mouth rinse is helpful. Stay away from rinses with alcohol. Keep up on your oral health.
