Find support & help: You may feel alone in this position, but you are not alone. Understanding the problem, how it happens, what can be done about it is key. Writing down your memory about it can give clues to solutions. Most obvious is getting counseling and probably psychiatric help including medication, if needed. Those you trust, friends or family can help as well. You can live better with it or even overcome it.
