Is depression something that you can't get to go away?

No: It's true that some people can struggle with depression on and off for some time, but everyone is different and depression is treatable. There are many different classes of medications to try along with therapy. If you tried one medication for a few weeks and you don't feel it helped, don't be discouraged. Ask your doctor to try a different medication and talk with a therapist.
