Feeling Blue...: Being 'disabled' doesn't raise your risk of mental illness as a whole; generally speaking. However the severity of your disability may lead to a "depressed" state of mind and that can lead to clinical depression if not addressed.

Broad Question: What type of disability are your referring to? A person with a disability may not have an increased risk to develop a mental health problem. Consider re-submitting post with a question that is more limited in scope. I.E. let us know which disability / disabilities you are referring to.
