Full bladder: Expect to be asked to arrive with a full bladder. You will lie on an exam table. Gel will be applied to your lower abdomen and then the ultrasound probe will be applied to the gel covered area to carry out the scan. Most uncomfortable part might be holding in the urine! enjoy the show! ask questions!

Ultrasound: It depends on how many weeks pregnant you are. If this a early pregnancy then you will need a transvaginal ultrasound to better delineate the baby and to see the heartbeat and to estimate fetal age. A vaginal probe will be placed in your vagina once you have an empty bladder. You may feel some pressure but the pics should be great..
